De hecho, las mutaciones pueden pasar desapercibidas durante generaciones, hasta que dos portadores tienen un hijo con dicha mutaci\u00f3n dominante.<\/p>\n<p>Ser portador significa que una de las dos copias de un gen contiene una mutaci\u00f3n que hace que no funcione correctamente. Si la mutaci\u00f3n se da en un solo gen, todav\u00eda existe una copia funcional, pero no activa, del mismo gen, por lo que los portadores pueden no ser conscientes de esta condici\u00f3n hasta que se realizan un test de compatibilidad gen\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>En el caso de que ambos progenitores tengan una mutaci\u00f3n en el mismo gen, la probabilidad de tener un hijo enfermo es del 25%.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1ndo es recomendable solicitar un CGT?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Se recomienda hacer el test en los siguientes casos:<\/p>\n<p>Antes de un tratamiento de reproducci\u00f3n asistida: Para conocer el riesgo de transmisi\u00f3n y poder determinar el mejor tipo de tratamiento en cada caso.<\/p>\n<p>Antes de un tratamiento con \u00f3vulo o semen de donante: Para seleccionar un donante que no sea portador de la misma mutaci\u00f3n que el miembro de la pareja que aporta los gametos (\u00f3vulos o espermatozoides).<\/p>\n<p>Antes de intentar por medios naturales un embarazo: Cualquier mujer que quiera quedarse embarazada para conocer el riesgo de transmitir posibles enfermedades a su hijo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>En la actualidad, se conocen unas 7000 enfermedades causadas por la alteraci\u00f3n de genes concretos. 1 de cada 100 nacidos presenta una de estas enfermedades.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfC\u00f3mo actuar cuando ambos miembros de una pareja son positivos en CGT?<\/h2>\n<p>La recomendaci\u00f3n es consultar con el especialista sobre las opciones para concebir un hijo sano.
